Analisa Low served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to the People’s Republic of China (2021- 2025) in Beijing, with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Brunei Darussalam.
Low also led business delegations across China, engaging with Chinese enterprises expanding commercial and industrial operations overseas, and secured investment in support of economic diversification initiatives in T&T. She was instrumental in negotiating deals for the successful entry of T&T manufactured products into the Chinese market, and continues to work closely with the Caribbean business community to address challenges and pinpoint business opportunities in China.
While serving at Trinidad and Tobago’s Ministry of National Security’s International Affairs Unit, Low coordinated bilateral security cooperation with China, the US, Latin America and the Caribbean, and supervised technical training and capacity building initiatives for defence, intelligence, and law enforcement agencies. She is also trained in forensic ballistics intelligence, firearm tracing, and international migration law. Her key projects included implementing migrant registration systems and coordinating high level military delegations from the P.R.C.
Before joining the civil service, Low gained extensive experience at Deloitte, providing
management consulting and advisory services in energy, education, manufacturing, non profit, and the public security sector. Her early career also involved business development roles, advising on sales, retail, and operations strategy for a private trading company in Trinidad.
She graduated from University College London (UK) with a Master of Science in Global Governance and Ethics, focusing on political economy of development. She holds a BA (Hons.) in Political Science and International Studies from Queen’s University in Canada, and studied French at the Sorbonne University in Paris. Low speaks Spanish, French, Mandarin Chinese, and Hindi.
Low was awarded Honorary Professorship at Hangzhou Normal University, and contributes to academic cooperation initiatives at the Centre for Caribbean Studies.
Low was featured on CGTN, China Daily, People’s Daily, Hainan TV, Phoenix TV, Hong Kong Media, and Caribbean media outlets, sharing commentary on TT - China ties and China’s evolving relationship in Latin America and the Caribbean.
